Bill a Dialysis Session and Feed Pulse
A signed dialysis session does two things at once for the business: it becomes money owed and it shows up in the numbers. This guide follows a signed session into the books and into Veona Pulse so the finance and renal teams can see what just happened — without anyone re-typing a thing.
Who / when: the work is automatic the moment Halima Sani signs the session; the billing team then sees the charges on the patient’s bill, and Dr. Okonkwo and unit managers see the run reflected in Pulse.
What signing raises
Section titled “What signing raises”When the nurse signs the session, Veona raises charges through the same central billable seam every clinical event uses:
- Veona — the Dialysis Session facility fee is raised as one charge, priced from the tenant tariff.
- Veona — each consumable logged on the session (the dialyser and any supplies) is raised as its own charge.
- Veona — these charges land on the patient’s account receivable and flow into the General Ledger on the session’s renal encounter cost-centre. They behave like any other charge from there — assembled into an invoice, optionally submitted to a payer, and settled.
What the consumables do to stock
Section titled “What the consumables do to stock”A consumable that is tied to a stock item draws the unit’s inventory down at the moment it is recorded on the session (not at signing): the stock lot is picked first-expiry-first-out and the one inventory ledger is decremented — posting Dr Cost of Goods Sold / Cr Stock-in-Hand at weighted-average cost. So the dialyser leaves the store and lands in cost of sale on the same set of books that carries the revenue.
What Pulse sees
Section titled “What Pulse sees”The signed run feeds four real renal metrics in Veona Pulse, ready for dashboards and scheduled reports:
- Dialysis Sessions Delivered — how many sessions completed (with a trend over time).
- Dialysis Adequacy — the share of sessions meeting the Kt/V ≥ 1.2 target.
- Dialysis Missed Or Shortened — the rate of missed or materially shortened sessions.
- Dialysis Revenue — the captured session revenue, in the tenant’s base currency.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”From here the dialysis charge is just another line in Veona’s revenue cycle — it joins the patient’s invoice, can go to a payer as a claim, and is reconciled when paid. And the unit’s clinical quality and throughput live in Pulse alongside the rest of the hospital.
