Change Your eSign PIN With Re-Authentication
Your eSign PIN is your electronic signature, so changing it is a security event, not a casual edit. Veona will never let you set a new PIN without first re-authenticating — proving it is really you. You confirm with one of three things: your current eSign PIN, your password, or a current MFA code (multi-factor authentication — a code from your authenticator app). Only after that proof is accepted does the new PIN take effect; the old one stops working immediately.
Who / when: All Staff with a signing PIN, whenever you want to rotate it — on a routine schedule, after you suspect someone may have seen it, or simply because it is time for a fresh one.
- All Staff — open Account → Security. Find the “eSign PIN” card (it shows when the PIN was last set) and press “Change PIN”.
- All Staff — in the “Change Your eSign PIN” dialog, use the “Confirm With” dropdown to pick how you will prove it is you: “My current eSign PIN”, “My password”, or “An MFA code”. Enter that proof in the field below it.
- All Staff — type your “New 6-digit PIN” and re-type it in “Confirm New PIN” to be sure they match.
- All Staff — press “Change PIN”. Veona checks your proof, and only if it is correct does it set the new PIN. You will see a confirmation that your eSign PIN was changed.
- All Staff — from this moment your old PIN no longer works and your new PIN signs everything. Next time you finalise a record, use the new one.
What happens next: your new PIN is live across every module straight away — it is the same universal signature, just with a new value. Records you signed before the change keep the signatures they already carried; the audit trail records that your PIN was rotated. Use the new PIN exactly as before, on every note, result, prescription and certificate — see Sign and Amend Any Record With Your eSign PIN.
