Sign In Passwordless With a Magic Link

Who / when: you, the patient, whenever you want to open your patient portal — to check results, see a booking, pay a bill, or join a video consult. There is no password to set, lose, or reset. Instead you confirm a few details and Veona emails you a one-time magic link that signs you in.

A few words first. Your portal is passwordless: rather than a password, each sign-in uses a fresh link sent to the email your clinic already holds for you. A magic link is that secure web link — it is single-use (it stops working the moment it has been used once) and time-bound (it expires shortly after it is sent), so even if someone saw it later it would be useless. The combination of facts you type to start the process is just a quick identity check; it never logs you in by itself.

1. Patient — open your facility’s patient portal in any browser. You land on the “Sign in to your portal” screen, which tells you plainly: “No password needed. Confirm a few details and we will send you a secure link to your email on record.”
2. Patient — fill in the three details exactly as your clinic has them on file: your “Last name”, your “Date of birth”, and the “Last 6 digits of your phone”. These three together are enough to find your record securely without exposing anything.
3. Patient — press “Email me a sign-in link”. The page changes to a confirmation headed “Check your email”, which shows a masked version of your address (for example a••••@g•••.com) so you can tell which inbox to open without your full address ever being displayed on screen.
4. Patient — open your email inbox and find the message from your clinic. Tap the secure sign-in link inside it. Your browser opens, shows “Signing you in…” for a moment while it checks the link, and then drops you straight onto your portal home — already signed in. No password is ever typed.

Note

Registered at more than one clinic that uses Veona? You will receive a separate sign-in link for each clinic, and the confirmation page tells you so. Open the link for the clinic whose results or bills you want to see.

Tip

Didn’t the email arrive? Check your spam folder first, then press “Use different details” on the confirmation page and submit again — a small typo in your date of birth or phone digits is the usual cause. The link in an old email may already have expired or been used; just request a fresh one.

Caution

A magic link works once and then expires. If you tap an old link, you’ll see a clear “this link can’t be used” message and a way back to the sign-in screen — request a new link and you’re in. This is deliberate: a used-up link can never sign anyone in again. If you no longer have access to the email on file, the portal can’t change it online for your safety — contact your care facility to update your contact details.

What happens next: once the link signs you in, your session is live and you can move freely around the portal — your results, bookings, bills, documents, telehealth consults, reminders and settings are all one tap away. Every sign-in is recorded in your own access log for transparency, and the very first time you sign in Veona quietly creates your portal account behind the scenes so everything is ready for you.
