Joining a Video Consultation
If your clinician sees you by video, you’ll get an invite to join a secure online consultation room. You don’t need any special software — just the invite and a one-time code.
What you’ll receive
Section titled “What you’ll receive”When your clinic books a video consultation for you, they send an invite with a link to join. The link may come by email or text message.
Joining your consultation
Section titled “Joining your consultation”- At the time of your appointment, open the invite link you were sent.
- You’ll be asked to enter a one-time code (a short number sent to you) to confirm it’s really you.
- Once your code is accepted, select Join Consult.
- You’ll enter the same secure video room as your clinician. Allow your browser to use your camera and microphone if it asks.
A one-time code (sometimes called an OTP) is a short number that works only once — it keeps your consultation private to you.
Before you join
Section titled “Before you join”- Use a quiet, private space with a steady internet connection.
- Have your camera and microphone ready, and allow your browser to use them.
- Join a few minutes early in case you need to enter your code.
After the consultation
Section titled “After the consultation”When the consultation ends, you’ll see it marked as completed in your portal. If a recording was made and shared, you may be able to access it there.
Trouble joining?
Section titled “Trouble joining?”- Make sure you’re opening the latest invite link, and that your one-time code hasn’t expired — request a new one if needed.
- If your video or sound doesn’t work, check that your browser has permission to use your camera and microphone.
