Welcome to Veona

Veona is a hospital management, electronic medical record, and laboratory information system (HMS / EMR / LIMS) built for healthcare facilities across Africa. It runs as a single product you can deploy in the cloud or on-premises, covering the day-to-day work of a clinic, a full hospital, a multi-facility group, or a public-health programme.

  • Clinicians — doctors and nurses who register encounters, order tests and imaging, prescribe, and document care.
  • Lab and pharmacy staff — lab scientists who run the bench and sign out results, pharmacists who dispense, and the teams who manage stock.
  • Radiology and theatre teams — radiographers and radiologists, surgeons and theatre nurses.
  • Administrators — facility, HR, and clinical admins who manage staff, roles, settings, and assets.
  • Patients — who use the patient portal to view results, book appointments, and join telehealth consults.
  • Operators — the Veona team who provision and support facilities from the control plane.

Veona is delivered as separate apps, each on its own address:

  • Staff apphms.veonahealth.com. The same staff application is also served at emr.veonahealth.com and ehr.veonahealth.com; all three are aliases for the one app, so use whichever your facility points you to. This is where all clinical and administrative work happens.
  • Patient portalpatients.veonahealth.com. A separate app for patients, with passwordless sign-in.
  • Control planeplatform.veonahealth.com. The operator console for provisioning, billing, and licensing. Most readers of this guide will not use it.

You can approach the documentation three ways:

  • By role — start with what your job involves (ordering, fulfilling, registering, administering).
  • By module — register, chart, labs, imaging, rx, ward, theatre, billing, and the rest.
  • By workflow — end-to-end journeys such as a diagnostics requisition, a ward admission, or a telehealth consult.
