What this is

Veona Theatre runs the operating list: schedule a case (with a double-booking guard on the room), assemble the surgical and anaesthetic team, complete the peri-operative record across its Pre-op, Intra-op, and Post-op phases, sign the record under an eSign PIN (a 6-digit signing re-authentication, separate from the login password), and record consumables and implants that draw down from stock.

Who uses it: surgeon schedules, completes the peri-op record, and signs (theatre.schedule, theatre.periop, theatre.sign). anaesthetist records anaesthesia and works the peri-op record. theatre_nurse works the peri-op record (checklist / consumables). clinical_admin manages theatre settings. The surgeon also holds read-only patients.read so the patient picker resolves.

Editions

Theatre is included in Hospital and Network. It is not in Health Centre or Public Health. It depends on Register.

The per-case peri-op record is reached by opening a case from the list or board.

Schedule a case (double-booking guard)

1. Open Schedule Case (“Schedule a case”).

2. On step 1 · Patient & procedure, pick the patient, specialty, and procedure.

3. Pick the surgeon, anaesthetist, theatre room, date, time, and duration. The room’s schedule is checked for an overlap — a clash is rejected.

4. Select Schedule. The case appears on the Live Board.

Complete and sign the peri-op record (eSign PIN)

Caution

Signing the record locks it — no further edits are possible. The signature’s date and time are audited.

1. Open the case to its peri-op record.

2. Use the Pre-op, Intra-op, and Post-op phase tabs; complete the relevant fields and select Save phase in each.

3. Select Sign record, enter your 6-digit eSign PIN, and confirm. The record shows Signed & locked.

Record consumables (stock draw-down)

1. On the case, add consumable / implant rows, picking each item from the stock picker (or free text), with quantity and — for implants — the lot / serial.

2. Save the rows. Each item draws down from stock by FEFO (First Expire, First Out), and on-hand decrements atomically with the record.
