Surgeon
You schedule surgical cases and author the peri-operative record. You own the surgical docket from booking through the signed op-note.
What you can do
Section titled “What you can do”Your role (surgeon) holds these capabilities:
- Read the theatre — list, board, case, checklist, consumables. (
theatre.read) - Schedule a case — book or cancel a surgical case, with double-booking protection. (
theatre.schedule) - Author the peri-operative record — pre-, intra- and post-operative notes, checklist and consumables. (
theatre.periop) - Sign and lock the record — the surgeon’s eSign gate (eSign PIN). (
theatre.sign) - Select patients — read-only patient demographics so the schedule’s patient picker resolves. (
patients.read)
What you cannot do
Section titled “What you cannot do”You do not author the anaesthesia record (that is the anaesthetist’s theatre.anaesthesia). You hold patient demographics read-only — you cannot register or edit patient records.

A typical day
Section titled “A typical day”- Open Schedule Case (Theatre). Pick the patient (the picker resolves because you hold
patients.read), the date/time and room — a clash triggers a double-booking guard. - Assign the anaesthetist and scrub team. The case appears on the Live Board.
- Open the case and fill the pre-op assessment, then Save.
- Sign record with your eSign PIN — the record locks and the signature is dated and audited.
- Record the intra- and post-op outcome; surgical consumables draw down from stock automatically.
