Draw Down Lab Reagents From Stock

Who / when: the lab scientist at the bench should never have to keep a second set of books for reagents. When you verify and release a result, Veona consumes the reagents that test uses straight out of Stock — picking lots by FEFO (First Expire, First Out), and doing it in the same transaction as the release, so the result and the stock draw-down either both happen or neither does. The reagents drawn are the ones mapped to the test, in the quantities the test needs. There is no extra button to press; releasing the result is the draw-down.   1. Lab scientist — open Labs → Results & Worklist and click the sample you are working. The order arrived from a prescriber (raised in the chart or the Diagnostics Suite), the specimen was accessioned, and now you are entering values.

  2. Lab scientist — enter each analyte value. Values save as a draft while you work, and out-of-range figures flag automatically (Low, High, Critical Low, Critical High). Use “Save Draft” to keep them without releasing.

  3. Lab scientist — when the values are complete, press “Verify & Sign Out”. The confirm dialog (“Verify & Release Results”) appears. Enter your 6-digit eSign PIN — your electronic signature, separate from your password — and press “Confirm Release”.

  4. Lab scientist — the draw-down is automatic, by FEFO. For each reagent the test maps to, Veona picks the lot with the earliest expiry that has stock on hand and decrements it by exactly the quantity the test consumes. You do not choose lots — the bench just works, and the inventory follows.

  5. Lab scientist (or storekeeper) — to see reagent levels at any time, open Stock → Reagents (“Analyzer reagent levels — consumed by Veona Labs against the one inventory”). Each reagent shows its on-hand, its tests-left figure, its reorder level, and its nearest expiry — all driven by the consumption your releases post.

What happens next: every release decrements reagent on-hand, so reagents fall toward their reorder levels just like any other stock.
