See the Consult on the Schedule and Start It
Who / when: the Provider who will see the patient, at the appointment time. This is the moment the consult goes from a scheduled slot to a live visit. Starting it opens the encounter — Veona’s single record of one visit — that the whole consult will document into.
The provider does not chase down a video link or a separate app. The consult that was created when the visit was booked appears on the provider’s own telehealth board, and starting it does two things at once: it opens the video room and it opens the canonical encounter. We will follow Dr. Okafor, who has Amina’s follow-up next on his board.
- Provider — open Veona Live → Telehealth Board. This lists the consults assigned to you. Find Amina’s consult in the Scheduled state.
- Provider — open the consult to review the patient and the reason before you go live. The consult detail opens from the board row itself — there is no separate “consult detail” menu to hunt for.
- Provider — press “Start”. Veona opens the Consult Room and, in the same action, opens a canonical “Virtual” encounter for this visit; the consult status moves to In Progress and your media stream activates.
- Provider — wait in the room for the patient to join. The Waiting Room shows anyone who has already arrived and is waiting for you to start, so you can see who is ready.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”With the consult started and the encounter open, the provider is in the room waiting. The patient joins the same room from their portal using a single-use grant, and the two meet face to face on video. From there the visit is documented into the one encounter and the consult is ended as completed — covered in the next step.
