Schedule a Patient's Recurring Sessions
A chronic dialysis patient comes in on a rhythm — often three times a week. Their prescription says how often (sessions per week) and for how long; scheduling turns that rhythm into actual slots on the chair schedule board, each on a real bay at a real time, so the unit can see its whole day laid out and the nurse knows who is coming when.
Who / when: Halima Sani, the dialysis nurse, books the sessions against the prescription’s frequency. (The nephrologist can schedule too — both hold the scheduling key.)
We will follow Halima booking a patient who is prescribed three sessions a week.
- Dialysis Nurse — open Dialysis → Chair Schedule. The board shows scheduled and running sessions on top and recently completed or cancelled ones below.
- Dialysis Nurse — press “Schedule Session”. Pick the patient (the picker lists only active enrolments), choose the scheduled time, and assign a chair — or leave it as Assign later and place them on a bay when they arrive.
- Dialysis Nurse — repeat for each slot in the patient’s week, following the sessions per week on their active prescription (for example, book Monday / Wednesday / Friday for a three-times-a-week order).
- Veona — each booked session inherits the patient’s active prescription automatically and opens a renal encounter (the visit record the rest of Veona bills and audits against). The session appears on the board in the Scheduled state.
What happens next
