Physiotherapist & Physio Assistant
You run rehabilitation. A clinician refers a patient to physiotherapy; you own the rehab episode from there — receive the referral, assess the patient, write the treatment plan, deliver and sign the sessions, and discharge when the goals are met.
Two roles share this work. A physiotherapist owns the clinical episode. A physio assistant delivers the prescribed sessions under that plan.
ROM is range of motion. An episode is one course of rehab care from referral to discharge. eSign PIN is your 6-digit signing PIN, separate from your login password, required every time you sign a session.
Physiotherapist — what you can do
Section titled “Physiotherapist — what you can do”As a physiotherapist, you can:
- Receive a referral — triage and accept a patient into the physiotherapy service.
- Assess the patient — author the subjective and objective assessment (range of motion, strength, pain).
- Author the treatment plan — the problem list, goals and the modalities you will use, and revise it as the patient progresses.
- Record and eSign sessions — document each therapy session and sign it with your eSign PIN.
- Discharge — close the episode with a summary when goals are met.
- Curate the rehab catalogue — the exercise library, the billable therapy types and the reusable plan templates the whole service works from.
Physio Assistant — what you can do
Section titled “Physio Assistant — what you can do”A physio assistant delivers care under the physiotherapist’s plan:
- Read the physio record — worklists, the plan and session history.
- Record a session — deliver and document a prescribed session.
What you cannot do
Section titled “What you cannot do”A physio assistant cannot author or revise the plan, sign a session, or discharge the patient — those stay with the supervising physiotherapist. A referring clinician can read the physio record for a patient they referred, but does not run the episode. The assistant carries out the plan; the physiotherapist owns it.
