Complete Ward Nursing Rounds

Each shift, a ward nurse works the rounds board: a live list of the tasks due across the ward’s patients — the checks, cares and reviews that make up routine nursing. As each one is done you mark it off, and it stays marked off — for you, for the next nurse, and on any fresh view of the board. Nothing is tracked on paper, and nothing falls through the cracks between shifts.

Who / when: the ward nurse, working through the due tasks on a round. We’ll follow Nurse Grace clearing the morning round.

  1. Ward nurse — open Ward → Nursing Rounds. The board lists the tasks currently due across the ward’s patients, drawn live from the system (not a list anyone typed up by hand).
  2. Ward nurse — find a task you have completed and select “Mark done” on its row.
  3. Ward nurse — the task immediately flips to Done. Work down the board the same way, marking each task as you finish it.

The board always shows what is still outstanding, so at any moment the charge nurse can see how the round is progressing and what remains. Completed work is preserved across the shift change, giving the incoming nurse an honest starting picture. The rounds run in step with the ward’s observations and medication round, and continue every shift until the patient is transferred or discharged.
