View Lab and Imaging Results in the Portal
Who / when: the Patient, once their care team has released a result to them. The portal shows your real laboratory values and imaging (X-ray, scan, ultrasound) reports — the very same signed-out results your clinician sees — laid out so you can read them clearly. You don’t have to phone the clinic or wait for a paper copy.
A result reaches your portal only after it passes two deliberate gates. First a diagnostic professional must verify and sign out the result — a lab scientist for lab values, a radiologist for an imaging report. Second, a member of staff must consciously release it to your portal (the release-to-portal step). Until both happen, the result simply isn’t shown to you. That’s why a test you had this morning might not appear yet: it may still be with your care team, by design.
- Patient — sign in to the patient portal (see Sign In, Reset and Recover a Portal Account).
- Patient — open Results from the portal home. You’ll see a list of your released lab tests and imaging reports.
- Patient — select any result to open it. A lab result shows each measured value alongside its reference range and a clear flag if a value is Low, High or Critical. An imaging result shows the radiologist’s written report.
- Patient — to keep a copy, open the result and download it as a branded PDF — a tidy document carrying your clinic’s name. See Download a Released Result as a Branded PDF.
What happens next: you now hold the same released results your clinician signed out — readable on screen and downloadable as a branded PDF you can print or share with another doctor. From the same portal you can also download other documents your clinic has shared with you, and message your care team if anything needs explaining.
