Diagnostics Suite
import { Steps } from ‘@astrojs/starlight/components’;
The Diagnostics Suite is the single ordering surface for diagnostic work. You build one requisition that mixes laboratory tests and imaging procedures from one server-searchable catalogue, sign it once with your eSign PIN (your 6-digit electronic signature, separate from your password), and send it. The requisition then splits automatically into a lab order and an imaging order under one parent record, so you track the whole job from a single worklist.
Who uses it
Section titled “Who uses it”- Clinicians and nurses raise and review requisitions. They hold the ordering
reach (
lab.read) but never the bench fulfilment keys — they order here, they do not enter results. - Lab scientists and radiologists fulfil the split orders in the Labs and Imaging modules respectively.
This is the order-versus-fulfil split: the prescriber orders in the Suite; the diagnostic professional results in their own module.
Editions
Section titled “Editions”The Diagnostics Suite routes on the Labs entitlement, so it is available in Health Centre, Hospital, Network, and Public Health editions. Imaging items only appear where the Imaging module is also licensed — Hospital and Network.
Screens
Section titled “Screens”| Screen | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Suite Worklist | The unified worklist showing every requisition and the combined status of its lab and imaging parts. |
| New Requisition | The one-screen order form: patient, ordering clinician, mixed labs + imaging catalogue, indication, sign and send. |
Raise a unified requisition
Section titled “Raise a unified requisition”-
Open New Requisition. The page is titled Unified Requisition — “Order labs and imaging together — one searchable catalogue, one signature.”
-
Under Patient & Order, search for the patient by name or UHID (the patient’s Unique Health ID, e.g.
VNA-12345), then pick the Ordering Clinician and a Priority. -
Under Catalogue (Labs + Imaging), type into the search box (for example
FBC,CT head, ormalaria). The combobox searches your tenant’s enabled catalogue live; add items from either family. Each added item shows its Family (lab or imaging) and, for imaging, a laterality option (Left, Right, Bilateral). -
Under Clinical Indication, enter the reason for the request. This carries through to the imaging procedures.
-
Press Sign & Send Requisition and enter your 6-digit eSign PIN.
On signing, the requisition splits into a Lab Order (routed to its analyzer through Veona Connect where a device is mapped) and an Imaging Order (routed to the modality via MWL — the DICOM Modality Worklist that pushes orders down to imaging equipment). The on-screen receipt lists every item with its accession, the device it routed to, and its current state.
Track results from the Suite Worklist
Section titled “Track results from the Suite Worklist”-
Open the Suite Worklist. Each requisition row shows the combined status of its lab and imaging parts.
-
Click a row to open the requisition. You see the lab analytes (once the lab scientist verifies and signs them out) and the imaging report (once the radiologist signs and finalises it) together under one record.
